Yeah I know, seems the route everyone takes once their stuff takes off is “support it on patreon to get access” some artists have even gone the route of going patreon only which basically makes it impossible for new followers to find their content.
This is not to say I won’t consider supporting the patreon, but at this point it feels like the artist is holding the content for patreon users only, and that the pages aren’t even planned for public release. So, This is also gonna come into a couple pieces. The first is ‘where the hell is the comic, guys, jeez’. Put simply, our production schedule, while viable short-term, was inefficient and affected the story as a whole. Part of the purpose of this hiatus is to learn from our experiences writing Pierce Me Chapter one, starting with efforts to do pre-production on the two major stories we want to work on next year – environments, completed storylines, everything we can do to make the production process silky smooth and stress-free.
And yes, snuck in there like a little tidbit, we’re planning on working on two major stories for the next year. For the most part, the second story will be in lieu of LIE, but we might be inspired and add more. You never know.
Obviously, the first will be Chapter 2 of Pierce Me. While we know where we want to take things at this point, and have some of the primary arc plotted out, it still needs refining, and several sets need to be developed. This stuff takes time, and the amount of time I have to work on sets is a lot less than it was at the start of the story. I’m thinking about writing up a proper postmortem for chapter 1 – let me know if that would be of interest to anyone!
The second one is a bit of a leap in terms of content, but it’s one I’ve wanted to work on for quite some time – a cyberpunk neo-noir story. We’re going with stylish, action-horror wrapped up in a detective story with ghosts and technology.
It works a lot better than how I’ve explained it, I promise.
It’ll be somewhat more experimental than Pierce Me was, and we’ve plotted out the major beats and sequences. As with Pierce Me, I’ve already started working on the environments and Sayuncle has been scribbling up a storm with designs and collaborative story planning.

What’s going on for the rest of 2018?
We’ll be deactivating payments for next month, to start with. I know it feels like a bit of a disappointment, but I promise that the rewards will be worth it. For the most part, as I mentioned above, the next month will be heavily focused on pre-production: preparing the comics in such a way that producing the pages for two major stories simultaneously won’t be an utter pain in the wossnames.
We will also be using December to catch up on some unfinished business that’s been bugging us, but we haven’t had the opportunity to really put down. For starters, the website will be replaced with something cleaner, more slick, and will merge the side comics (LIE, etc) and our major stories (Pierce Me, Unnamed Cyberpunk Noir Working Title) under the same layout. You won’t even need to type in more than one web address!
On the art side, the website will also include the chibi wall, up to date as of December 2018. That’s been a Whole Thing, and we’ve been unofficially planning to release them when the chapter ends on the website, but I think it’ll go up when the new site goes live.
In addition, those who are owed art (Including rewards for this month) will be getting theirs. A bonus packet, with all this extra stuff, absolutely free. It’s like TWO Christmases, but at the same time as the other Christmas, and instead of socks, there’s art! Take that, Santa!
Regular production of comics should resume in January, under the plans listed above. That’s how you make goals, folks – simple and loose enough to be fulfilled, but specific enough that you have to do _something_!

But $1 a month for artwork when being an epileptic with multiple doctors and other things to juggle, it just makes more logical sense to hold off until I myself am stable in my own shoes. Some months I have up to three different doctors appointments, and in December 2018 I was hospitalized till January 2019 and underwent major surgery for a severe pneumonia attack on my right lung which had it 80% filled with fluid.
So this update and the fact that you stated as a patreon member you’re still awaiting page access, leads me to the conclusion of waiting even longer for patreon support for this specific comic, only based on information I’m hearing from other users and my own experience.

You can, just support their patreon and you get notifications and early access to the pages.
Yeah I know, seems the route everyone takes once their stuff takes off is “support it on patreon to get access” some artists have even gone the route of going patreon only which basically makes it impossible for new followers to find their content.
This is not to say I won’t consider supporting the patreon, but at this point it feels like the artist is holding the content for patreon users only, and that the pages aren’t even planned for public release. That’s just how it’s feeling after literally months of most of us waiting (or I guess the patreon users getting their fix and not speaking up). Some of us with car repair costs and medical bills can’t just pay for artwork to enjoy willy nilly ya know =) Just a point a view from the other side
Dude I’m a patreon supporter and i have also waited since november. To us they finished the chapter and are taking a break and creating new ideas. They are also planning to update the website and such. They aren’t hiding anything because we haven’t got anything either. Pretty sure the last page for this was page 170 so you are only missing out on like 4 pages. Also its LITERALLY $1 a month. If you can’t afford $1 a month then thats dumb
Actually no the last update on this comic i got was August. Since then its been other projects sneak peaked to us and thats its really.

So, This is also gonna come into a couple pieces. The first is ‘where the hell is the comic, guys, jeez’. Put simply, our production schedule, while viable short-term, was inefficient and affected the story as a whole. Part of the purpose of this hiatus is to learn from our experiences writing Pierce Me Chapter one, starting with efforts to do pre-production on the two major stories we want to work on next year – environments, completed storylines, everything we can do to make the production process silky smooth and stress-free.
And yes, snuck in there like a little tidbit, we’re planning on working on two major stories for the next year. For the most part, the second story will be in lieu of LIE, but we might be inspired and add more. You never know.
Obviously, the first will be Chapter 2 of Pierce Me. While we know where we want to take things at this point, and have some of the primary arc plotted out, it still needs refining, and several sets need to be developed. This stuff takes time, and the amount of time I have to work on sets is a lot less than it was at the start of the story. I’m thinking about writing up a proper postmortem for chapter 1 – let me know if that would be of interest to anyone!
The second one is a bit of a leap in terms of content, but it’s one I’ve wanted to work on for quite some time – a cyberpunk neo-noir story. We’re going with stylish, action-horror wrapped up in a detective story with ghosts and technology.
It works a lot better than how I’ve explained it, I promise.
It’ll be somewhat more experimental than Pierce Me was, and we’ve plotted out the major beats and sequences. As with Pierce Me, I’ve already started working on the environments and Sayuncle has been scribbling up a storm with designs and collaborative story planning.

What’s going on for the rest of 2018?
We’ll be deactivating payments for next month, to start with. I know it feels like a bit of a disappointment, but I promise that the rewards will be worth it. For the most part, as I mentioned above, the next month will be heavily focused on pre-production: preparing the comics in such a way that producing the pages for two major stories simultaneously won’t be an utter pain in the wossnames.
We will also be using December to catch up on some unfinished business that’s been bugging us, but we haven’t had the opportunity to really put down. For starters, the website will be replaced with something cleaner, more slick, and will merge the side comics (LIE, etc) and our major stories (Pierce Me, Unnamed Cyberpunk Noir Working Title) under the same layout. You won’t even need to type in more than one web address!
On the art side, the website will also include the chibi wall, up to date as of December 2018. That’s been a Whole Thing, and we’ve been unofficially planning to release them when the chapter ends on the website, but I think it’ll go up when the new site goes live.
In addition, those who are owed art (Including rewards for this month) will be getting theirs. A bonus packet, with all this extra stuff, absolutely free. It’s like TWO Christmases, but at the same time as the other Christmas, and instead of socks, there’s art! Take that, Santa!
Regular production of comics should resume in January, under the plans listed above. That’s how you make goals, folks – simple and loose enough to be fulfilled, but specific enough that you have to do _something_!
Thank you, that’s all people can ask for is at least for the update to be posted here as well. $1 a month is affordable, yes. But $1 a month for artwork when being an epileptic with multiple doctors and other things to juggle, it just makes more logical sense to hold off until I myself am stable in my own shoes. Some months I have up to three different doctors appointments, and in December 2018 I was hospitalized till January 2019 and underwent major surgery for a severe pneumonia attack on my right lung which had it 80% filled with fluid.
So this update and the fact that you stated as a patreon member you’re still awaiting page access, leads me to the conclusion of waiting even longer for patreon support for this specific comic, only based on information I’m hearing from other users and my own experience.
So now here we are in February. Have they posted anything else on their Patreon? Like more comics in January?
Nope, you usually pay at the start of the month and recieve it on the 30 or 31 of that month you paid however we got refunded because nothing was given on the 31 of jan and got refunded again on feb 1st meaning nothing will be given on the 28th this month either
