no, if they’re anything like my dysfunctional family they pretend to have feelings that are either fabricated or dishonest in order to make themselves feel better or seem better to everyone else. For example, sister traveled Europe for years…finally came back wanted to visit, mom wouldn’t let her stay with her, she had to stay with me, in my shitty apartment. I travel, don’t see my mom for 3 years, decide to visit for christmas…zero effort put in what-so-ever to celebrate it. christmas dinner was distant relatives all talking about their abusive upbrinings and how many times they were beaten by my grandma. Yay…
When she first appeared she had a more stressful environment with Chris and Mick being at each other’s throats. I’m guessing she was in full “female hyena” mode at the time and had no willpower to be nice and came off as…very harsh. Right now things are very relaxed and she can be more affectionate without the stress. My hypothesis anyway.
Dysfunctional family aside think about it from a different perspective…
Option A) Stay at home and visit with mum
Option B) Go make unf unf yiffy-time with Kenzie =3
He might in the end wish he had chosen A) when he runs into his one night stand Javier, whose also hanging out with Kenzie and Millie (I’m sure I spelt that wrong) at the beach. With Millie being as nosy as ever and with no moral restraint in wanting to hear juicy details, I’m sure some curious drama is about to happen in James and Kenzie’s relationship. Course, I could be wrong…we shall see! :P

The mom doesn’t seem like a jerk here when she met kenzie at the beginning of this story.
TBH I think the family needs more screen time so to speak.
