I’m pretty sure “meat of it” means “you might not be the ‘life’ of the party, but you’re definitely the meat of it,” meat probably being a reference to his size. No clue on the “twice” part though.

It could be twice the life as in he goes way too far to make sure people are having a good time or twice the meat of the party, saying he’s a big boy.
